PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS

We measure the performance of each sensory judge during the tastings they decide to participate in through specific metrics, creating a final document with which the judge can understand and evaluate their performance during the whole year.

The overall performance of a sensory judge is expressed by the Efficacy Index, which is the weighted average of five indices, with a minimum score of 0.00 and a maximum score of 10.00.

The metrics taken into consideration are:
-
repeatability: the ability of the sensory judge to evaluate the same sample in the same way at two different times;
-
collimation: the ability of the sensory judge to give scores close to the median of the group, for each descriptor and for each sample;
-
discrimination on samples: ability of the sensory judge to differentiate, or to find the differences between the samples for each descriptor.
